Company History

Sula Vineyards Limited was originally incorporated as a Public Company under the name 'Nashik Vintners Limited' issued by the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai on February 26, 2003. Subsequently, name of Company changed to 'Sula Vineyards Private Limited', pursuant to a Certificate of Incorporation issued by the RoC on August 11, 2014. On the conversion of Company to a Public Limited, pursuant to a Resolution passed by Shareholders on December 27, 2021, name was changed to 'Sula Vineyards Limited' issued by the RoC on February 11, 2022.

Promoted by Mr. Rajeev Samant, the Company is India's largest wine producer and seller and a consistent market leader in the Indian wine industry. The business is classified under two categories, viz production of wine, import of wines and spirits, and distribution of wines and spirits and operation of wine tourism, including vineyard resorts and tasting room. Additionally, it also import and distribute 21 international labels, including 18 wine labels, 2 vodka label sand 1 brandy label.

In 2005, the Company launched India's first wine tasting room at their winery in Nashik.

In 2008, it launched 'SulaFest', India's first wine themed music festival at the plant in Nashik. It opened the country's first vineyard resort.

In 2015, it acquired 50% of share capital of Remy Sula India Private Limited. Artisan Spirits Private Limited (ASPL) was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary of Company.

In 2017, the Company acquired winery business unit of Heritage Grape Winery Private Limited (HGWPL) as a going concern on a slump sale basis.

In 2018, it acquired 51% of the paid-up share capital of Progressive Alcobev Distributors Private Limited (PADPL), a subsidiary of Company.

In 2020, the Company launched Dia', India's first wine-in-a-cane.

In 2021, the Company's subsidiary, Artisan Spirits Private Limited (ASPL) acquired the winery unit business of York Winery Private Limited. It divested entire stake from PADPL, aggregating to 51% of its paid-up share capital.

In 2022, Sula International Limited, an erstwhile subsidiary company incorporated in U.K. was voluntarily dissolved with effect from April 26, 2022. The Company offered 56 labels to choose from a portfolio of 13 distinct brands as of September 30, 2022.

The Company came out with a Public Issue during December, 2022 through Offer for Sale amounting to Rs. 960.35 crores.
